Our Platform

You deserve to be noticed! After all, you have taken that pivotal step… the scariest of the creative process… you have placed your art under the scrutiny of the public eye! Some of you have been 'at it' awhile…some are new to this public arena…either way, you may or may not be sustaining yourself full time on your art… you are all at various stages of getting seen and heard.

And let's face it… although lightening has been known to strike occasionally, pinning your hopes of sustainability on the oft chance of being "discovered" early on, or sending out "want ads" for a manager or booking agent to scoop you up to the pinnacles of success, or sending a mountain of unsolicited materials to anonymous individuals at "the majors", are often dead-ends. However, what is viable, is what is in your direct sphere of influence and control. Current options to "DIY" (Do It Yourself), and maintain most of the benefits of your creative process, are getting stronger in this ever-shifting landscape that currently existing in the business of music and the arts. We feel strongly that the best direction to gear yourself is toward creating sufficient "leverage" by the time you are approached by a major entity (if ever you are considering what their criteria is) …and that comes about from working independently in an effective manner.

You then may have questions on how effective you are in this public arena… or may not have the time to address the fundamentals, nor the more ideal activities, depending on the nature of your current success and your established goals for making your talent work for you. Perhaps you just want to begin integrating more technical or professional help into your Team of Supporters (and every successful artist does have a Team in place, be it via delegated assignments amongst a Band, voluntary Fan Supporters, and/or paid for professionals with various skill sets; to be a successful small or "Indie" label does not provide an exemption from requiring a high degree of "inter-dependency… quite the contrary!) Thus, any of these may be the situation that we come in on to help you should you engage us…

We seek… artists with something new or something substantial to add to the global 'creative dialogue' within their genre or field. Our mission, upon your acceptance on The Blueshift Group Roster of Artists, is to apply a synergistic approach to expanding your exposure and your fan base. Our decision to take you on is still primarily personal… or emotionally-based, as fans in general… someone here at The Group really likes what you do.

We will, however, be honest with you as to what gaps exist in your current strategies, what will help you to actualize your goals, and what you need to be doing yourself at this point versus what others could/should do for you. Regardless of the level of resources (time and/or dollars) you have available to put toward the promotion and marketing of your talents, as long as you realize that a number of strategies must be addressed to enable you to grow your audience and create a sustained "buzz" about your art, we can provide some level of support that assists you in an affordable manner and utilize performance-based measures as much as possible to help you determine that we are doing our job on your behalf (some measure may also apply to your efforts as well to help you gage your own effectiveness, or that of your team as a whole.) We are behind you for the long haul… and when you are ready for collaborations on an "In-House" support level, we'll be there for you then, too.

Bundled Service Packages : New as of January 2004

Based on the support needs we've found among the artists/bands who have come to us in the past, we have created what we think are logical components of promotional and developmental support, heavily discounted due to the bundling of services. Various options are automatically tied to each Package to make these an even more useful "fit" for many artists:

 

 

Package I: Get Started! Increase Visibility!

Basic Promotional Services, with emphasis in starting or supplementing your presence on the net, for as low as $3.33 per month when a two-year membership is granted. An additional low cost option is tied to it in order for you to get routinely included in monthly mailings to Festival Organizers and Venue Owners, inclusively for a total price averaging only about $8.33 per month.

Package II: Create Demand!

For the seasoned musician or band with “DIY” achievements and a documented fan base, or new comers with past individual credits established… interested in developing a sustained “Buzz”. If accepted, they are added to our line up of “Featured Artists” , receiving a host of online/offline services with deep discounts on a number of adjunct supportive activities provided on an ‘as needed' basis, for under $30 per month with a two-year membership. Limited slots for this category allow us to give you the proper time and attention.

Package III: Now Make Some Noise!

For “In-House” support, at this level we are acting as an integral part of your Team, maintaining you in the public eye while you do you're thing full time (and doin' it very well at that, thank you very much!) Seriously, this is geared toward those who are successfully “making a living” from their art, with supportive services starting at $300 per month. Extremely limited slots made available at any point in time. Chances are if we haven't brought this one up in conversation, it's not for you at this stage of your development.

Of course, these are not "one size fits all"… our initial conversation/consultation with you will determine your current gaps and the opportunities-at-hand. For Consideration

Please submit the following if you are interested in being considered for promotional support and representation:

  • Complete Promotional/Media Kit, as it currently exists
  • Sample of Performance: live or studio (a Demo/ DVD/ Retail CD/ Video/ etc.)
  • Complete Contact Information: Name/ Title (or affiliation with artist/ band)/ mailing address/ phone number/ email address/ web site URL
  • Indicate any of the following as it applies: markets/ regions you currently are in/ current size of fan mailing list/ number of gigs in the past year

Mail info to The Blueshift Group:: Talent Division. Packages are not routinely returned. Send e-mail to indicate that you are forwarding via "Snail Mail". Please request permission to send any EPK via email (we would prefer a disc/CD-ROM with the information.) Allow at least two weeks from our receipt (we will confirm its arrival) to provide you with our initial feedback, and to potentially set up a phone appointment for a free 30 minute consultation.

Note: If interested in placing your music in the hands of a local Music Supervisor for consideration in any upcoming media projects, please enclose two sets of promotional materials. Another e-mail will be forthcoming from him to confirm his receipt and to answer any questions you may have.

New "News" and Add-On Promotional Opportunities

We aim to reinforce a sense of community amongst all artists, thus, this information stream is extended to any artist who is interested.

Banner Exchange

Initial offering, for Free inclusion in the start-up of our Network Banner Exchange Program, is to be extended to artists on The Blueshift Roster! (Participation is limited to a predetermined volume to ensure depth of exposure for each Banner Ad.)

Artist Promo and Tips

Over time, our free "TIP SHEETS" and other components will be a feature reserved for artists and accessible in a Password Protected area of our web site. Some of the info will be prepared by us, and some by guest contributors in various roles "in the Biz". Special artist resources will be highlighted as well.
